Under 23 Women’s T20 Tournament Kicks Off in Northern Province

The much-anticipated Under 23 Women’s T20 Tournament officially got underway on 14th March 2026, marking a significant milestone for women’s cricket development in Sri Lanka’s Northern Province. Matches are being hosted across two key venues in Jaffna and Vavuniya, bringing together emerging talent from all five districts: Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Mannar, and Mullaitivu.

A Pathway to the Future

This newly introduced tournament is part of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) National Pathway Program, a strategic initiative aimed at identifying promising cricketers at the grassroots level. The goal is clear: nurture young talent and elevate them to meet international standards, strengthening the future of women’s cricket in the country.

Organized in collaboration with District and Provincial Cricket Associations affiliated with SLC, the competition serves as a vital platform for players to showcase their skills, gain competitive experience, and progress through the national cricketing structure.
